More Marckres to Go Around!

Another 108 of the glass plates taken by Sharon legendary photographer, George Marckres, are currently at the Chicago Albumin Company for duplication and permanent preservation. The new prints are expected to be ready for viewing at the Museum by July.

Marckres prints and other photographs in the Museum’s collection may be scanned at the museum office and are available in 5 x 7 ($5) and 8 x 10 ($10) sizes, often available while you wait. Larger prints are also available (11 x 14) for $15, please allow two to three weeks.

Job Posting

The Society is looking for a Sunday Museum Manager. The job primarily involves opening the museum for visitors, guiding tours of the Gay-Hoyt House and the museum exhibits, and generally making visitors to the museum feel comfortable. During quite times, the manager will handle office or research projects designed to meet individual interests. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Salary is $10/hour. Volunteers who have served in the past say it’s a wonderful way to learn about the history of your town, and to share it with a number of eager visitors!
